Another in the ongoing “Gas Stations At Night” series. This is on my home turf, where so few gas stations remain, due to relentless gentrification, yuppification, hedge-fund stupid money fornication. It would appear that the kind of people moving into Lower Manhattan no longer need things that working and middle class schmoes need – delicatessens, laundromats, local stationary stores and, yes gas stations. Sad, but true, that this is one of maybe 4 remaining gas stations below 14th Street. An astonishing stat, considering that there were at least 20 no more than 10 years ago.
